TSR "SRF board member" award

As cycnical as that sounds, the TSR'ers also see people who are trying to wade through the horse do's which is why they are often seen with welly boots on..
Always positive to get quick response time and an open chat time a positive.
So for 2009 this is going to Stina leijonhufvud. When you have a family to take care of as well as a job, its a lot of work to try and work around the Big Top, so well done Stina and we hope you keep it up!

TSR "best comeback" award

After some major back surgery as well as the rest of the list of injuries and of course getting a wee bit over 25, it was grand to see one of Swedens all time greats stepping back into the arena and getting stuck in, on top of being one of the contenders for coach of the year as well with Hammarby RK just getting taken out in the semis.
Well done young man, new season around the corner!

TSR "Godzilla" award 2009

Well, a player who may not have shown too much in the set peice but by god he got around the park as quick as and for the whole game.Huge impact! Apparently playing at Bedford rugby club now or then or ..whatever..he was MASSIVE!

TSR "I'm retiring" award 2009

Not too long ago I was at a dinner with this guy who was recieving a diploma of all diplomas for services rendered over 200 years for Swedish rugby.Prior to that he'd retired from International rugby at his home pitch along side Mike Tatu I believe, recieving flowers and all the rest.Aye well, all the best.Legends don't retire...they just try..
Niklas Jaråker wins the award hands down as well as getting his name added to the list of "Legends we'll have to dig up before they stop"..And I still believe he could play International rugby upfront.

TSR Club coach 2009

Looking at the leaders of the teams around the country we couldn't come up with a better player/coach combo who managed to put keep the ERK machine together for the entire season.
Matt Youngman is our TSR Club Coach of 2009.

this is worth looking into the old mailbox...

Former Wallabies coach John Connolly is suing the Australian Rugby Union and its chief executive for $1.1 million over an allegedly defamatory email sent in the wake of the team's 2007 World Cup defeat.

According to documents lodged in the Supreme Court in Brisbane, John O'Neill sent an email to several top ARU officials in February 2008, urging them to avoid contact with Connolly.

In the email, O'Neill expressed his concern that Connolly might have fed sports journalist Danny Weidler damaging information about the ARU, which was then published in what O'Neill claimed was a "very inaccurate and hurtful" article in The Sun-Herald newspaper.

According to the court claim, O'Neill urged ARU high-performance manager Pat Howard, Wallabies team manager Phil Thompson, Wallabies assistant coach Michael Foley and the ARU management committee to "reconsider" whether it was in their career interests to have any further contact with Connolly.

The email also allegedly urged them to advise Connolly that "his days of pandering evil and mischievous propaganda will shortly come to an end".

According to the claim, O'Neill then goes on to describe Connolly as "a person who adds no credit to the game", and assuring them "that his involvement in rugby is at an end from an ARU perspective".

Connolly is claiming the email was defamatory in that it damaged his reputation by painting him as a person of bad character, and caused people to avoid him.

He is seeking $350,000 in damages for the alleged injury to his reputation.

He is also seeking a further $750,000 in special damages, saying he has been unable to obtain high level coaching positions since the email was sent.

Connolly claims he lost the opportunity to be re-employed either as coach of the Queensland Reds, which he coached from 1989 to 2000, or the yet-to-be-established Super 15 consortium.

And after the defeat by the Scots it now appears that the Australian public feel this the worst defeat ever and Robbie Deans who is one of the top coaches around at the high performance level is under fire.
And as per usual the question of "player power" has reared its ugly head as apparently some of the players have a few issues..can't imagine who, looking at the pic...perhaps he felt he should have made that kick...
And I have to say I was surprised when a senior player of the Scottish squad was interview after the game and mentioned he felt the crowd were fantastic as they booed him whilst he kicked..whats happened with the game...???

well well well........
